welcome to the tales of our crazy life

I'm Heather. I'm over-caffeinated, under appreciated and constantly amused by these two crazy peeps we call our daughters.

I started this blog in April 2006 because I don't want to forget a single second of this awesome life. Why a blog? Because I'm a slacker. That's why.

Baby books? I'd actually have to find a pen. Have you SEEN my house? (Shhhhhhht...NOT a question). Scrapbooking? Puh-lease. When you can add six more hours in the day MAYBE we'll talk about it. I do like to sleep. Occasionally.

The Toothless Wonder

Roo just lost her third tooth - the top left one. It was loose for what seemed like forever. We went to bed every night for weeks just swearing we'd wake up to a toothless kid in the morning, but it never happened. I finally grew impatient (and a little worried that she may swallow it) as I watched her use her tongue to turn the tooth almost 180 degrees. It actually grossed me out a bit. And just when I was about to call in the tooth exorcist, it finally popped out.

Was she concerned about there being blood? Nope.

Was she concerned about the tooth fairy? Nope.

Just you know who.

Happy St. (Wylie) Patrick's Day!

We spent St. Patrick's Day with Wylie and his family and I think it's safe to say this may go down in history as one of the best days of Rilee's life. Talk about two peas in a pod!

Hard to Get?

Clearly my child has yet to learn the importance of playing hard to get. After school today Roo and I were walking to the parking lot along side her classmate Wylie and his dad.

Wylie: Hey, Dad! Guess what's in my bag?

Wylie's Dad: What?

Wylie: Rilee's phone number.

After we got in the car I asked Roo if Wylie asked her for her phone number.

Roo: No, I just gave it to him.

Me: Oh, did he give you his ?

Roo: No. I guess I'll just have to ask for it, huh?

Her First Valentine

Rilee walked out of school today with her buddy Wylie. As Wylie's mom motioned for us not to leave yet I took note of the gigantic smile on Wylie's face. He told Rilee he had something for her and pulled a big, pink stuffed dog out of his backpack and told her, "Happy Valentine's Day, Rilee".

Now, the boy is only six, but he certainly knows what a girl wants. Pink? Check. Dog? Check. Her mother's admiration? Check.

To say my daughter was delighted would be an understatement. I couldn't help but smile when she looked at him and said, "Awwww, thanks, McCoy!"

Wylie's mom said the gift was completely his idea. He told her he wanted to pick out something "extra special" for Rilee.

Me, I think Rilee IS the something extra special. There's a twinkle in her eye and a skip in her step that makes her unlike any other child in the world. While she may have little Wylie's heart now, she'll have mine forever.
