welcome to the tales of our crazy life

I'm Heather. I'm over-caffeinated, under appreciated and constantly amused by these two crazy peeps we call our daughters.

I started this blog in April 2006 because I don't want to forget a single second of this awesome life. Why a blog? Because I'm a slacker. That's why.

Baby books? I'd actually have to find a pen. Have you SEEN my house? (Shhhhhhht...NOT a question). Scrapbooking? Puh-lease. When you can add six more hours in the day MAYBE we'll talk about it. I do like to sleep. Occasionally.

Toothless

It really is the little things in life that excite us. Chris and I are so easily amused. Roo had her first loose tooth this past week. Well...her first loose tooth, a plethera of tears and a couple of meltdowns. I think its safe to say she was a little nervous about losing her first tooth. We tried to reassure her that it wouldn't hurt. Other kids in her class had already lost a tooth and it really was no big deal. Nope. She wasn't about to buy what we were selling. The girl was FREAKED OUT!

After about a week of wiggling, that tiny little tooth became REALLY, REALLY loose. Sunday night I predicted it would be out by Thanksgiving and I was right. She lost it last night at Grandma's house. Is it ridiculous that I was a little sad it didn't happen at home? I really wanted to see it come out, but oh, how I loved the sound of her voice when I got that phone call. All she had to say was, "Hi, Mama," and I knew it had happened. There was an excitement in her voice I'd never heard before and suddenly all I wanted was to see that sweet little toothless face. It seemed like days before they came home. I was like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. I heard the car pull into the driveway and practically ran out the door to see her. (And people, I DON'T RUN.)

It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen and a moment I will never forget and I hope to get that toothless face in front of my camera soon.
