welcome to the tales of our crazy life
I started this blog in April 2006 because I don't want to forget a single second of this awesome life. Why a blog? Because I'm a slacker. That's why.
Baby books? I'd actually have to find a pen. Have you SEEN my house? (Shhhhhhht...NOT a question). Scrapbooking? Puh-lease. When you can add six more hours in the day MAYBE we'll talk about it. I do like to sleep. Occasionally.
Now, That's Love
It was warm, but not too warm. It was breezy, but not too breezy. It was sunny, but not too sunny. My kids were being perfect, but not too perfect. After a delicious lunch, a successful shopping trip and ice cream in the afternoon we retired to the back lawn to relax so the children could frollick and play. (Believe it or not, the day was going so well it actually felt like this.) With Lucee on my lap I was soaking in the sweetness that is my baby girl. With a sweet exchange of I love yous I interrupted Rilee’s playtime to tell her how much I loved her too. She promptly turned to me with, “Well, I don’t love you.” Trying to maintain the positive energy that emcompassed our day I calmly and softly began to explain to Rilee that saying I don’t love you can hurt my feelings. I told her that what she said was unkind and once again looked lovingly into those big beautiful brown eyes and said, “Rilee, I love you so much, ” to which she replied with something I never in a million years thought I would hear…….
“Mommy, you have a booger in your eye.”
Now, that’s love…
